EMS Saves Lives PAC (Whatcom County) – Alleged violations of RCW 42.17A

Respondent:  Erica LIttlewood
Created Date: February 22, 2017
Status of Investigations: Assessment of Facts

Description:

EMS Saves Lives, a political committee supporting Whatcom County Prop. #2016-1, allegedly violated campaign finance laws by failing to accurately report contributions and expenditures, and other actions.

The “EMS Saves Lives” committee was the committee that raised over $100,000.00 from mostly out of County Interest to pass a NEW 40 Million Dollar Property tax for Whatcom County’s EMS system.  The measure passed by 41 votes.
These complaints allege wrong doing in reporting, reporting the names of committee members, failure to report in-kind expenditures and timely disclosure of donations and debt. Among others.

These complaints are of concern because the election was extremely close.

We hear that this complaint may be filed with the Washington State Attorney General to take action.

We will continue to follow this story as it develops and supply you with specific sources when they become available.
